Recently, Lexus, a Toyota division which produces luxury cars is reported to have been added their latest product, CT200h to be marketed in Japan. It is expected that cars with new models will help increase sales which are sluggish in the domestic market.
Further, Lexus said CT200h that actually designed for European market will also be introduced into North America and China. After that, some countries will soon followed.
The five-door hatchback hybrid cars will be offered at a price of USD 42,780 to USD 52,180 and is targeted to achieve sales of more than 1,500 units in Japan.
With combination of gasonline engine 1,800cc and an electric motor, Lexus CT200h can generate power 134 hp and allows it to accelerate from 0 up to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds. Gasoline engine serves to help the electric motor to improve acceleration and power wheels when Lexus CT200h operate in EV mode.
Lexus said, according to an official test of Department of Defense, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism of Japan, CT 200h have traveled 34 km with only one liter of gasoline. In addition, CT200h is also equipped with advanced features such as SmartAccess, Start/Stop and touch sensor on the front door handle as standard equipment.
